In the early 1960s in Southern California, a fearless creative culture was flourishing everywhere, and Leo Fender set out to design a new collection of acoustic instruments that captured the innovative spirit permeating the artists around him. Working with legendary luthier Roger Rossmeisl, Leo produced several unique acoustic models that embodied the character that made Fender a symbol of the rock-and-roll revolution.
Today, Fender California Vintage models draw directly on their mid-century origins with a retro aesthetic, adding 21st-century performance and a rich, refined acoustic tone. The California Vintage Palomino™'s medium-size Auditorium body is built with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid ovangkol back and sides, thanks to the Performance X™ bracing pattern, for a versatile, articulate voice with exceptional detail, clarity and balance.
