Fender® American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster® Thinline, Maple Fingerboard, Lake Placid Blue

Product information "Fender® American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster® Thinline, Maple Fingerboard, Lake Placid Blue"

The Fender® American Vintage II series presents a remarkably faithful reinterpretation of the groundbreaking designs that changed the course of music history. Built with historically correct bodies, necks and hardware, premium finishes and painstaking attention to tone, with era-specific pickups, each instrument captures the essence of Fender's most authentic craftsmanship and tone.

The Telecaster® Thinline debuted in July 1968, and its semi-hollow design was created to produce lighter instruments from heavy ash wood. Redesigned in late '71 with a pair of Wide-Range humbucking pickups mounted on a new curvilinear pearloid pickguard, the second-generation "tricked-out" Telecaster Thinline saw its first full year of production in 1972. Notably, it was the first six-string Fender with humbucking pickups and the first Tele® with six adjustable bridge saddles. The American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster® Thinline reproduces the distinctive tone and feel of the original.

With a Canadian maple neck featuring a "C" profile, the American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster® Thinline offers ultimate playing comfort, with a 7.25" radius fingerboard and vintage-height frets. To create authentic Wide-Range humbucking pickups, we resurrected CuNiFe magnets, an essential element in reproducing the tone of the originals. Characteristic of 1972 production, this Thinline is equipped with a handy "Bullet" style truss rod nut, a three-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt™ mechanism, tuning machines with stamped "F", a 6-saddle bent-steel hardtail bridge with through-body stringing, and is offered in Aged Natural, 3-Color Sunburst and Lake Placid Blue on a semi-hollow ash body.

American Vintage II series instruments are the direct descendants of the original Fenders: built for players who truly appreciate vintage Fender tone and response, they're built with unmatched quality down to the very last screw. These are Fender electrics in their purest form: Fender American Vintage II, the stuff legends are made of.
