The Fender® American Vintage II series presents a remarkably faithful reinterpretation of the revolutionary designs that changed the course of music history. Built with historically correct bodies, necks and tuning machines, top-tier finishes and the utmost attention to tone, with era-specific pickups, every instrument captures the essence of the most authentic Fender craftsmanship and tones.
In 1963, a new combination of woods paired the power and focus of alder with the added warmth of a round-lam rosewood fingerboard, enhancing the Tele's® characteristic twang. With Pure Vintage '63 Telecaster® pickups, a three-saddle threaded steel bridge and a comfortable maple neck with "C" profile, the Limited Edition American Vintage II 1963 Custom Telecaster reproduces the characteristic tone and feel of the original. A hallmark of 1963 Custom Telecaster production, this Tele features double-bound edges, clay inlays (closely spaced at the 12th fret), a 7.25" radius fingerboard, and is available in black lacquer on an alder body.
