Fender® Limited Edition American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster® Thinline, Maple Fingerboard, Olympic White

Product information "Fender® Limited Edition American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster® Thinline, Maple Fingerboard, Olympic White"

The Fender® American Vintage II series presents a remarkably faithful reinterpretation of the revolutionary designs that changed the course of music history. Built with historically correct bodies, necks and tuning machines, top-tier finishes and the utmost attention to tone, with era-specific pickups, every instrument captures the essence of the most authentic Fender craftsmanship and tones.

The Telecaster® Thinline debuted in July 1968, and its semi-hollow design was created to produce lightweight instruments from heavy ash wood. Reworked in late '71 with a pair of Wide-Range humbucking pickups mounted on a new curved pearloid pickguard shape, the "tricked-out" second-generation Telecaster Thinline had its first full year of production in 1972. Notably, it was the first Fender six-string with humbucking pickups and the first Tele® with six adjustable bridge saddles. The American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster® Thinline reproduces the characteristic tones and feel of the original.

With a hard maple neck with "C" profile, the American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster® Thinline offers maximum playability, with a 7.25" radius fingerboard and vintage-height frets. To create authentic Wide-Range humbucking pickups, we resurrected CuNiFe magnets, essential to recreating the tones of the originals. A hallmark of 1972 production, this Thinline is equipped with a handy "Bullet" style truss rod nut, three-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt™ mechanism, "F"-stamped tuning machines, a 6-saddle bent-steel hardtail bridge with through-body stringing, and is available in Olympic White on a semi-hollow ash body.

American Vintage II series instruments are the direct descendants of the original Fenders: designed for musicians who truly appreciate vintage Fender tone and response, they are built with unmatched quality, down to the very last screw. These are Fender electrics in their purest form: Fender American Vintage II, the stuff legends are made of.
