In response to affordable, high-quality import guitars, Fender created the Lead Series in 1979, featuring a new solid-body design, fixed bridges and interesting new wiring options. Appealing to a wide range of players, the sleek new Lead models ushered in a new era of creativity in Fender's history.
The Player Lead II is a tribute to the late-'70s models, featuring dual Player Series single-coil pickups, a modern "C"-profile neck with medium jumbo frets, dual toggle switches (one for pickup selection and one for phase reversal) and, of course, its distinctive offset double-cutaway shape. Available in Neon Green, faithfully vintage-accurate Crimson Red Transparent and Black.
