The Fender® American Vintage II series presents a remarkably faithful reinterpretation of the groundbreaking designs that changed the course of music history. Built with historically correct bodies, necks and hardware, premium finishes and painstaking attention to tone, with era-specific pickups, each instrument captures the essence of Fender's most authentic craftsmanship and tone.
In 1963, a new combination of tonewoods united the punch and focus of alder with the added warmth of a round-laminated (concave-back) rosewood fingerboard, enhancing the unmistakable Tele® "twang". With Pure Vintage '63 Telecaster® pickups, a bridge with three threaded steel barrel saddles and a comfortable "C"-profile maple neck, the Telecaster American Vintage II 1963 reproduces the sound & feel that are the quintessence of the original. Characteristic of 1963 production, this Tele stands out for its closely-spaced "clay dot" inlays (at the 12th fret), a 7.25" radius fingerboard, and is offered in three colours: Crimson Red Transparent on mahogany, and 3-Color Sunburst or Surf Green on alder.
